In the picture: look at the highlights of the new museum's very subtle new triennial, full of original, almost unfinished art | Artnet News

Take a look at the "soft water hard rock".

The theme of this year's New Museum Triennial is "Soft Water Hard Rock". This nickname alludes to the natural world, folk wisdom, and the quiet, continuous power that changes over time-the idea is that even a soft current will have an impact over time.

Curated by Margot Norton and Jamillah James, with the assistance of Jeanette Bisschops, the resulting show did indeed land gently. It shows many things lying on the ground or looking like they have just been picked up from the ground, as well as things that are vaguely reminiscent of ruins. It is all faded colors and neutral colors and graphite gray. It has a cold emotional tone (though not cold).

There are almost no large, central images-there are many things you have to see in detail like a puzzle. Even large things and concrete works, somehow make people feel faceless and careless. The mental afterimage left by the show is that many people stand with their backs to you, talking in low voices.

It provides a lot of thinking. I have compiled my thoughts. Here are some photos of the show, so you can experience it yourself.
